The Delta Delta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was founded on April, 29, 1972 at Truman State University. Our eighteen charter members who started the organization wanted to create a strong and diverse brotherhood. After 50 years, we have initiated over nine hundred brothers and those same lasting ideals of Character, Leadership, Academics, Sportsmanship and Service remain.
We are not a large fraternity on campus and we don’t intend to be one.
Our medium size places us in an ideal position. It gives us the resources to be competitive on campus for scholastic achievements, intramural sports, homecoming, Greek Week, or any other activities. At the same time, our size facilitates a close relationship between our members. Pi Kapps are not members of a social group; they are brothers. Whether it is studying in the library, hanging out at the fraternity house at 815 S. Davis, getting involved with the chapter or campus activities, or on the weekends at mixers/parties with sororities, other fraternities, and the women of Truman State University, the men of Pi Kappa Phi work to foster and strengthen their friendship into lifelong brotherhood.
Our chapter represents a diverse group of men from around the nation and the world. Our brothers have a variety of majors and extracurricular interests such as sports, music, hunting, and volunteer work. We want to attract men who are willing to uphold the traditions of our chapter and strive to better themselves and the chapter.
As a social fraternity, our members gain personal and leadership experience. Our fraternity provides many outlets for our men to become leaders on campus and in the fraternity. We pride ourselves on the service work we do for our philanthropy, The Ability Experience. Pi Kappa Phi is the only national social fraternity that created and maintains its own philanthropy. Through our work with The Ability Experience, Pi Kapps are dedicated to helping and understanding those with disabilities.
If you want a fraternity that will support for your scholastic, service and leadership endeavors and provide outlet from regular campus life, Pi Kappa Phi is for you. If you decide to rush and join us, it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
