Alpha Kappa Lambda is a national social fraternity founded on Judeo-Christian principles of ladership, sholarship, loyalty, ad self support. Founded in 1914 in Los Angeles by a group of men named “Los Amigos.” Less than forty years later the Xi Chapter was founded at Northeast Missouri, now Truman State.

As one of the first social fraternities on campus we hae some of the longest standing tradition and largest alumni networks. For over half a century AKL has continued to be an education and social outletfor students who want to participate in everything to philanthropic work to intramurals. We raise money annually for the American Cancer Association, the local area food bank, and for “These Hands Don’t Hurt.”

We pride ourselves on the leadership and quality we show in other organizations around campus as well as keeping on e the strongest brotherhoods offered. The brotherhood of our Xi chapter comes from our diversity and closeness. We have one of the newest and biggest fraternity houses at Truman State that gives brothers the chance to live together and form true family bonds. We hope that you will come see for yourself just how little this article does our fraternity justice.

President: Brayden Phillips

When asked why he wanted to join the IFC community, Brayden said, “I was drawn to the IFC community because of the connections and social opportunities it provides. Being part of AKL has allowed me to meet new people, build lasting relationships, and become more involved on campus.”
